About me

Marina Cabau, soprano, graduated from ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) in June 2022, cum laude, having worked with professor Margarida Natividade (Classical music) and Marta Almajano (Early music). She specialized in Lied performance with Francisco Poyato, Josep Surinyac, Assumpta Mateu and Alan Branch and she was awarded a scholarship from Anna Riera Foundation (Barcelona) which supports young artists.

She has been a member of Cor de Noies de l’Orfeó Català and Orfeó Català (Palau de la Música Catalana - Barcelona) singing as a soloist in various productions. Since late 2020 she is a member of Bach Collegium Barcelona choir, conducted by Pau Jorquera.

She has formed a Lied duet with pianist Miquel Villalba, with whom she co-created the Lied show Nit de llum. In 2020, Villalba and her, alongside visual artist Mariona Rios won the artistic residence of the project La fàbrica de Lied with the Lied and performance show Un mapa del cos.

In 2021 she premiered one of the main roles in the new opera Ferides, composed by a young ESMUC graduate, Jofre Bardolet (Vic, July 2021). She participated as a soloist in Bach's St. Matthew Passion with the Luthers Bach Ensemble (Netherlands, 2024).​

She is currently in the Master of Music program at Prins Claus Conservatorium (Groningen) under the guidance of Paul Triepels, David van Laar and Hanneke de Wit.
